The Iron Man movies were actually some the last movies I watched in my MCU journey. I was vaguely aware of Tony's origin story. But his saga wasn't really something I was truly interested in. But re-watching them in context, I found things I really loved. So let's jump in.
1. Tony & The Solider Taking A Selfie
This is just a funny (kinda sweet) moment where we see Tony's conflict truly start.
2. Pepper Potts
I adore Pepper. And her entrance is EPIC - telling Tony's overnight guest that she sometimes "takes out the trash"? *chef's kiss*
3. Happy Hogan
It's probably because Happy is more involved in later movies and we see more of his personality, but I loved seeing him this movie, even though he doesn't get a lot of screen time.
4. Rhodey
Rhodey also doesn't get a lot of screen time, relatively. But his interactions with Tony are gold.
5. "Proof That Tony Stark Has A Heart"
Another shoutout to Pepper on this one. This was such a thoughtful and cheeky gift. (And, of course, it come sin handy later.)
6. Tony & Pepper Dancing
This is such an amazingly awkward scene.
7. The Suit Reveal
I talked about this in my blog post about Captain Marvel. I love the suit reveals. I love knowing how suits are made or given or come about. And in true Tony style this suit reveal is pretty amazing.
8. "I am Iron Man"
What do I really need to say about this one? The cutoff after this to credits is great.
