10 Best Parts of Captain America: The First Avenger

I'm re-watching all the Marvel Movies and drawing my favorite moments! Captain America: The First Avenger was the first MCU movie I ever watched - in the theater with my family - and I was absolutely hooked! Cap is one of my favorite superheroes. Here are my top 10 best parts of The First Avenger

1. "I could do this all day."

Steve's "catch phrase" (not really a catch phrase, but I can't think of a better word) shows up in - I believe - all of his movies? Please correct me if I'm wrong. But it's definitely a part of his character (in more ways than one).

2. Bucky Barnes

We needed more Bucky Barnes, IMO. We only get one movie of pre-Winter Soldier Bucky, and it's not enough time.

3. Bucky and Steve

We also need more Bucky and Steve interacting. I love their friendship. Bucky believed in Steve long before he took the serum and became a super soldier. That's the kind of friend you need in your life.

4. Howard Stark

Personally, I think Howard is a great character. And when he shows up in the lab when Steve gets the serum, I just love how terrified Steve looks. Because not ten minutes earlier, we see Steve at the expo watching Howard's flying car crash down on stage...

5. Peggy Carter

Peggy Carter is also a fantastic character. I read a post years ago about the scene where Peggy asks Steve "And these are your only two options - a lab rat or a dancing monkey?" and it's stuck with me. It said something along the lines of "Imagine how many times Peggy has asked this question in her life. Do you think she made it into the SSR, made it up to such a prominent position, if she gave in to whatever options were given to her?" And I love this outlook - thinking outside the box, outside the options that are handed to you.

6 ."The Star-Spangled Man with a plan."

This whole montage of the stage version of Captain America is delightful.

7. First Official Cap Uniform

The reveal of the first official (not cobbled together) uniform is epic.

8. "You don’t have one of those, do you?"

The reveal of Red Skull's...red skull is made even better by Bucky asking "You don't have one of those, do you?"

9. The Howling Commandos

We don't get a lot of backstory on the Howling Commandos and who they are. But they definitely have a lot of great moments throughout the second half of the film.

10. Little Kid with a Trash Can Shield

This moment demonstrated the legacy of Captain America in 20 seconds!
