I've been drawing my way through Gilmore Girls! And I (painstakingly) narrowed down my favorite moments in Season 1 to just 10.
1. "I despise you."
Michel has some ZINGERS - throughout the show but especially in Season 1. It's probably why I fell in love with his character so quickly.
2. "I need coffee in an IV."
I don't drink coffee personally, but this just...sums up Lorelai's coffee obsession in just one sentence.
3. "I just got hit by a deer!"
I have actually been hit by a deer. It's terrifying.
4. "I'm attracted to pie. Doesn't mean I feel the need to date pie."
This whole conversation when Lorelai is trying to get Max to explain why they should date is just...gold. I'm wishy washy on Max, but they certainly could match wits.
5. "I...am an Autumn."
I adore Richard Gilmore. He has flaws, of course, but his relationship with Rory is so sweet. And this exchange - Rory gives him a style magazine while at her birthday party, and there's a quiz he takes - is so cute.
6. "You made me a Santa Burger."
This one is just iconic. Luke has such a torch for Lorelai, and it shows constantly.
7. Sookie and Jackson's First Date
Ok. I ship Sookie and Jackson so hard. And the subplot that is their relationship and marriage and kids is so well done. They're quirky and funny and adorable.
8. "So...it's a show?" "It's a lifestyle." "It's a religion."
Need I say more?
9. "Because I love you, you idiot!"
The finale, though. And this line, though.
10. "There should be a thousand yellow daisies."
Another thing about Max - he's so romantic.
Bonus: Babette and Morey
I also really, really love Babette and Morey.
